Kalafati Ioanna-Panagiota
Assistant ProfessorIoanna–Panagiota Kalafati is an Assistant Professor in genetic predispodition, nutrition and dietetics in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, University of Thessaly, Greece. She has great experience in clinical nutrition, human genetics, gene-diet/lifestyle interactions and statistical genetics. She holds a BSc degree in “Nutrition & Dietetics” and an MSc degree in “Clinical & Public Health Nutrition”. Her PhD thesis was on gene-diet/lifestyle interactions in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. In 2019, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the field of genetics of complex traits in humans at Queen Mary University of London, UK. Since 2020, she has worked in various research projects in the field of dietetics, nutrition, and the role of genetic background in noncommunicable diseases. She has 40 publications in scientific journals, including Nature Genetics, Human Molecular Genetics, Nutrients and European Journal of Nutrition.
