Dr Ioannis D. Morres is an assistant professor of mental health, physical activity and quality of life-eating behavior at the University of Thessaly. He obtained MSc from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven-Belgium and PhD from the University of Thessaly. He has worked for the KULeuven and the University of Nottingham (UK). He is a leader of the Modules 1) “Behavioral Medicine & Accelerometry” in the MSc “Food, Nutrition and Microbiome” (School of Medicine, DUT), 2) “Clinical exercise psychology: prescription for mental health disorders” in the Erasmus Mundus MSc “European Masters of Sport & Exercise Psychology (University of Thessaly) and 3) “Psychology of Exercise in the MSc “Exercise, Ergospirometry and Rehabilitation” (School of Medicine, UTH). He also teaches meta-analytic techniques and exercise-mental health in Doctoral/Master Programs at the University of Leipzig (Germany). Dr Morres has contributed to external research funding of €2.000.000,00 and serves as a reviewer for the Dutch Research Council and for the Frontiers in Psychology and Frontiers in Sport and Active Living. His research interests include clinical accelerometry, behavioral change and mental health. He has published 38 peer-reviewed papers (Scopus citations >1.000), received international journal awards and distinctions and a signal of scientific evidence by the National Institute of Health Research for Patient Benefit in the United Kingdom. He is certified in Behavioral Medicine by the National Institute of Health (USA), and he is a member of the American Psychological Association.
