Rodopi Stamatiou is a post-doctoral researcher in the Medical Department, School of Health Sciences, in the University of Thessaly. Her main field of research is the inflammatory response mechanisms in chronic diseases of the respiratory and the cardiovascular systems. She has worked with molecular response mechanisms, as well as cytotoxicity mechanisms in human smooth muscle cells. She has taught Physiology (systems, pathological, behavioral, applied), Genomics, Membrane Biophysics and Research Methodology in pre- and post-graduate students in the University of Thessaly. She is a member of Greek and European Research Societies and has been a reviewer in international journals. At the moment she is working on the cytotoxicity of air pollutants, in a European research program in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while is also a research fellow in the ICU of the University Hospital of Larissa.
