Sandra Martín-Peláez is Associate Professor at the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Granada (UGR). She is graduated in Biology and in Food Science and Technology by the UGR, and PhD by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), Spain. Her main area of research focus on the interplay between the gut microbiota and dietary components on human and animal health, at molecular, pre-clinical and clinical levels. Her research has been carried out in United Kingdom (University of Reading), Spain (UGR, UAB, Hospital del Mar Medical Institute, University of Barcelona, and Molecular Biology Institute of Barcelona), and Greece (University of Thessaly). She has participated in 15 research projects, one as principal investigator. She has published 39 research papers in peer reviewed journals, 4 book chapters and 24 communications in national and international congresses (Scopus: h-index 20, 1404 citations). Supervisor of one PhD, 8 Master, and 10 Bachelor theses. Topic Editor of the Journal Nutrients.
