Dr Dimitrios T. Karalis (MD, MSc, PhD) is a registered endocrinologist with specialization in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. He holds a PhD in Endocrinology (Department of Medicine, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece). He holds an MSc in Bioethics (Democritus University of Thrace, Greece). He has received his Medical Diploma from the Department of Medicine, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also a registered practitioner of acupuncture and related techniques (International Council of Medical Acupuncture and Related Techniques). He has taught and currently teaches many undergraduate-level courses (nutrition, metabolism, pathology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology e.t.c.) at the University of Thessaly, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. He is currently Adjunct Lecturer (University of Thessaly). He has presented in numerous national and international conferences, symposia and workshops. He is an active researcher and has published in numerous international (peer-reviewed) academic journals. He serves as an active member of the : Hellenic Endocrine Society, Hellenic Diabetes Society, Hellenic Society for the Study of Bone Metabolism, Hellenic Medical Association for Obesity, Hellenic Medical Society for the Study of Risk Factors in Vascular Diseases. He is the author of the book «Βιολογία και Εγκληματική Συμπεριφορά» (Biology and Criminal Behavior). He is the co-author of the book «Περιβαλλοντική Βιοηθική – Βιοτεχνολογία. Γενετικά Τροποποιημένα Τρόφιμα» (Environmental Bioethics – Biotechnology. Genetically Modified Products). He is also the co-author of the book «English Terminology for Health Sciences: Dietetics and Nutrition (Volume I)».
